Release date: 1/1/2022
Focus on diseases like urea cycle disorders, organic acidemias, hepatic porphyria
The videos below are an online replica of the classical training experience so common in teaching hospitals… shadowing a specialist as s/he sees her/his patients in clinic. Each Metabolism Elective has a theme and includes short medical overviews of selected diseases coupled with brief videos of patients/caregivers who describe their experiences in living with those diseases.
This activity is intended for neurologists and neurology trainees, nurses/nurse practitioners, physician assistants, genetic counselors, and dietitians, and other clinicians and their trainees, engaged in the care of patients who present with encephalopathy for reasons that are unclear.
